I wouldn't even consider a laptop without an SSD (solid state drive) these days. They make everything so much quicker than old-fashioned hard drives. (For your needs, a basic 128GB drive would be perfectly adequate). I'd also like to see 8GB of RAM in a laptop but 4GB is acceptable. Any i5 or i7 (or equivalent) processor should suffice. Although Windows 10 is fully functional, a transition to Windows 11 might be best at the present time.
As has been indicated above, I can highly recommend the refurbished products from AC Computer Warehouse. (I've bought plenty of stuff from there, both for my own use and on behalf of others). However I've also discovered an excellent eBay seller, which is where the laptop that I'm using now came from.
