Watched this lovely film on BBC today and thoroughly enjoyed it. I sang along and laughed and cried - what a great film. Anybody else watch it ?

Yes I remember that Buen. It was excellent, like everything M & W ever did. Nothing tops the original film for me though. I've also seen a stage version which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Saw South Pacific in 1958. My dad took me and I loved every minute of it.
Can't see the point of musicals films
Watched it as well it is a great musical, uplifting, nice to have something to watch instead of all the afternoon repeats.
One of the few musicals I loved. First saw it in the cinema with my Mum. I was 11. Wonderful music. An absolutely beautiful film.
I like a good musical and South Pacific is one of them!
Didn't watch it tho.

The best ones are of a certain age, Calamity Jane is another cracker.
...and White Christmas was on yesterday (sniff sniff)
I watched it and enjoyed it - I can’t remember when I last saw it (a LONG time ago) but it stood the test of time

I watched Carousel (for the first time) before it and thought it was pants :-(
The only film-musical I like is the 1962 production of The Music Man starring Robert Preston.

i thought that was Rossano Brazzi voice, but sadly it wasn't, the musical songs were dubbed.
My mum loved it - one for the ladies I think.
