I did regularly at home for years, found it quite beneficial. Don't know why I gave up! Maybe I'll start again. A couple of my friends were doing yoga classes pre-covid.

Thanks, dave. I'm at the age where I worry about getting too stiff to cut my own toenails, wash my own back, reach the back of that low kitchen cupboard....
I do basic stretching and flexing exercises and have started to add in some very basic yoga stretches that I have seen on YouTube and the like - but I don't know if I'm doing them properly. I want to maximise the benefits and minimise the risk of injury!

I have thought about going to yoga classes but there are none in my area just for men and I think I would feel very awkward in a ladies' class. I had no problem being the only man in WeightWatchers for years but the ladies there weren't in very tight lycra bending and stretching. I don't want to be thought of as a pervert.

I was hoping a few men would tell me that the classes are fine.
Mr puzz does yoga in a class of mainly ladies. I think the Lycra ladies do the more active classes and the dress code is more relaxed for yoga
My daughter teaches yoga and has online and zoom classes. Lots of men join in
The guys I know go to classes with their partners. I did go to classes for a bit but the teacher moved on somewhere else. I originally started by watching TV (back in the day) and getting the associated book - Richard Hittleman's "Yoga for Health". Apart from flexibility I found it particularly helped my breathing & stopped me snoring!

Zoom classes might be the solution. The yoga ladies at my gym definitely wear lycra outfits with the cropped tops - apparently, it is essential to check the pose is correct.
Question Author
Well that's a big plus, Dave. Have you started snoring again since you stopped the yoga?
Oh yes! In a big way.
Question Author
Time for the downward dog, dave!
My yoga tutor was male and there were quite a few men in the class.
Question Author
Thanks, Maggie, I'll have to start researching local classes
Yoga is good for your mind and body. Good for your mind because you have time to think and relax, and good for the body because of the streching and movement. I am a man and used to do yoga. Following along youtube videos is always a treat and super fun. Along side yoga you should probably also do more traditional exercises. Have fun!
^^How strange, your profile says you're female.
