When I ring most times from my landline - it would give about literally 2 ring before the answermachine comes up.

This doesn't give the receiver time to get up from sitting to answer. Is there anyway I can get my telephone to ring a good bit longer.

I'm with BT. Thanks for any answers.

JJ it’ll be in Settings on your landline phone where you can extend the time it will ring for
is your answermachine integrated with the phone, a seperate answer machine , or a BT service on your line?
On my Bt phne there ia Settings mode for Answerphone.Do you have the user guide that should have come with your phone. If not there is a help line on 0800 145 6789.
Do you mean the telphone belonging to the person you are calling only rings a couple of times?
If so, you can't do anything about it, it is their phone settings that determines how long it rings for and you can't alter it
isn't it the receiving phone that determines the number of rings?
Yes it is, davebro
Maybe they have the number of rings set low to filter out nuisance calls. If you leave a message JJ do they get back to you?
If the person you're ringing is there, they'll 'phone you back, surely?
I agree withdavebro and barry, its the receiver's phone that decides when answerfone cuts in. Am pretty sure that the more stacked up messages there are the quicker the answerfone message come's in so maybe your friends need to clear there message's.

thanks for all the answers - I only get two rings as well when anybody rings me too so I'll look at the settings (if I can find them).

I chatted to BT Advisor but am none the wiser.
What make and model phone do you have?
