To be used maybe once a week at most and easy to set up and use. Thanks all. Would need to use wireless with iPad. Or any to avoid?

This is the exact same one that we bought. We bought ours from Currys but it's not on their website anymore, but Argos have it:
https://www.argos.co.uk/product/9301391?clickSR=slp:term:printer:3:11:1

It's a printer, scanner and printer all in one and the inks are quite reasonable as well - around a tenner for a set of 4 inks from Ebay.
Sorry - it should say printer, scanner and **copier** all in one.

Not a bad price as well :)
I’m a fan of Epson inkjet printers, mainly based on the total cost of ownership (cost of printer and replacement cartridges).

Normally I pay around £40 for the printer, then buy compatible cartridges from ebay sellers.

It looks like Epson are getting wise to people like me, their cheapest inkjet is now around £60 (XP-3105), with cartridges from around £2 (bought in packs).
A set of genuine Epson cartridges will set you back at least £35.
Will you be printing in colour or will you only be printing black and white letters, etc? If it's the latter, forget about inkjet printers and go for this laser one:
https://www.argos.co.uk/product/1946417
(Replacement toner, for about 1000 sheets of printing, cost around £15 from StinkyInk and others. So that's just 1.5p per sheet)
Got to agree with Buenchico on this, he recommended this exact printer for me about 3 years ago, its great for black and white printing, very quick and cartridges are reasonable cost.
It all depends what the OP is after. Smurfchops has specified that they want a wireless printer .... and that laser printer isn't wireless :(

It'd be okay if they don't mind connecting it with a USB cable, but according to the reviews it doesn't come with the cable, so if you do buy this one, make sure you have a USB cable at hand.
I'm glad you're on the ball, Gizmonster! That printer is a replacement in Argos's range for one that is/was wireless and I forgot to check that the newer model is.

Sorry, Smurfchops!

Yes, a black and white printer please, very basic, I hardly use it. The one I have now is just printing blank pages ( I have asked the question!) and I will have to buy a new one. Would it be a good idea to just print a random page every week or so, to stop the ink from clogging ? Thanks all x
