Righto, bednobs. We have two methods of keeping in touch.
1) By text. This has been stable for the month Mrs A has been in hospital.
2) Our preferred method is by using the messaging facility in WordFeud, giving us our iPad keyboards.
The dodgy WiFi at the hospital means that we can sometimes chat for hours, more often it drops out after half an hour and we have to revert to texting.
Thus, I was wondering if we could use our stable mobiles to tie in with our preferred iPads. But the answer seems to be ‘Yes’, but onlyif weswitch our wifi to ON - which we avoid as it is a silly price.
There always seems to be something to frustrate our attempts to subvert the system.
Never mind, Mrs A is doing better, and that’s more important.

When I was in Hospital, I used BT wifi Hotspot that was fortunately available in the Hospital vicinity. We are with BT, so once I had logged in with our account details I was connected and up and running without the woeful Hospital wifi, much to their annoyance. If you are not a BT customer and there is a hotspot available with good signal you can still log in and give payment details for a set period of 24hrs, 1 week, 2 weeks, or I think a month. If your laptop or means of getting online is showing a BT hotspot as an available network and has good signal bars(at least 2)you just try to connect and take it from there.
Must admit that it has become much more expensive than when I first became aware of it some years back when on hols in Cornwall.

If it can, Smarty do a data only pay as you go SIM with 30GB data for £10. I think that is a real bargain
