Depends on your laptop and TV and what connections are available on each of them......

get an hdmi cable
plug it into laptop .
and then into the tv .hdmi. socket
Depends on the age of the laptop and the TV and the connections on the laptop and TV.

If the laptop and TV both have HDMI sockets use a HDMI cable.

A search on "connect laptop to TV" in Google gives loads of web sites and YouTube videos with suggestions and I am surprised you did not do that first to be honest.
Without knowing which output options you've got on your laptop, and which inputs are available on your TV, it's impossible to give a simple answer to your question.

Some modern laptops have an HDMI output socket and all modern TVs have HDMI inputs, so it could be as simple as connecting the two together with an HDMI lead and selecting the correct source on the TV. (Some laptops require you to specify whether you're using the built-in monitor or an external device to view the picture though).

The make and model of the laptop might help us.
I’d agree that a length of wire would give you the most stable image, but there are wireless options. Various little boxes which you plug in to your TV (the overpriced Apple TV being one), and then you link your PC to that. Works, but it’s never as good as a wired link, in my experience.

As Buenchico says, details of your kit will help.
As Bainbrig indicates, it's possible to stream your laptop's content (or, more accurately, the content displayed in the Chrome web browser on your laptop) to your TV wirelessly. You'd need one of these to plug into your TV:

If you have a modern smart TV and your laptop is new enough you may be able to wirelessly cast across to it.
