When Paypal send my money to you, they tell you my Paypal email address, which is often necessary.

But is there any way of concealing my Paypal address?

And is it a potential security risk having my Paypal email floating around the www?

My experience is that Paypal is the safest way of paying for anything. Used it for years with no problems.
What is a Paypal email address? I only have one email address and that's been floating around the web for years.

Thanks, but not what I asked.
Sorry, I didn't mean to be annoying but I wanted to know, as I have not heard of it before and you seemed the best person to ask.
Unfortunately, I can't answer your question specifically, but I have never had a problem with Paypal.
margaret, if I were to send you money via PayPal the email address I use for PayPal would be shown to you.
bainbrig wants to know if the email address can be prevented from being given to the you.
Why don't you have a separate address for Paypal?
But don't people who are sending you money have your email from elsewhere anyway?
bainbrig, you can register another email address to your PayPal account and use that when you don't want the recipient to know your usual address.
Goofy, it can be relevant if you want to make donations to a charity anonymously and not bog down your email box with begging emails.
I used to use Paypal until someone in the USA took money from my account in three transactions.
Did you get it back, danny?
I've used PayPal for many years and had thousands of pounds go through my account without problems.

I've got loads of email addresses, including only ONE paypal address. It's that one I want to keep private - and it isn't. I often get spam/adverts from people I've bought stuff from on Paypal, coming in to that address.
Thanks hc4361, I misunderstood the poster's question. Also, you answered my question. I didn't think about having a separate email address for PayPal. Might be worth thinking about.
Just click ‘unsubscribe’ at the bottom of the emails. Although, why it should bother you that a single email address you only use for PayPal isn’t private seems strange.
Don't click 'unsubscribe' - just block the sender. Tedious but it works
Should your email address be hidden from someone you have sent money too via Paypal .. if for whatever reason they needed to refund you .. how would they manage to do that if they dont know where to send it ?

alava - point taken.

The spam/ads are from people I’ve bought things from through Paypal, who thus have my address.
How about a spam filter ?
been using paypal since it started, never had a problem, there support is great, ie real person on the other end of phone. it's safe do not worry.

I've been poking around the Paypal site, but although others are asking similar questions (via Google), no answers are forthcoming.

I do have TWO exclusive 'monetary' emails, both of which are listed on Paypal, and only one of which I use when logging in to Paypal. This is the one that gets adverts, spam, requests for dosh (from charities), and so on.

It might be just Paypal's inferior system - you don't get this with Amazon, where everything is at arm's length. You and the seller never communicate directly, only through Amazon.

Bill.
HC, //Did you get it back, danny? //
Yes, through my bank.
