When connecting to wi-fi, there is usually a list of possible connections to choose from. Having selected your preferred connection, is it possible to see, via that connection, what other devices are also connected at the same time?

If it’s your WiFi then you would go to your router’s admin page and that would show you all connected devices, how exactly would depend upon the router.

Thanks
On my laptop, Win 10, if I click on the internet display icon at the bottom of my screen not only does show my wi-fi that I'm connected to but underneath others that my laptop can see, presumably belonging to neighbours.
Sorry I've just re-read your question and that's not what you were asking
Also, you can download the tether name app and manage all the connections connected with your router or you can also change the name and the password without going the IP Address site linked to the entire connection of the router.
