You can, but again it depends on Postcode and budget. If Your Mum has a sky set up it may be the best option. The link provided is easier than 20 mins typing to show speeds available and costs. If your Niece needs to upload and download lots of info it may be important.
If you have a decent mobile signal then you can use what I use, an O2 mobile dongle which slots into a usb port. I have never had any bother with it, although saying that I do have a strong mobile signal in my area.
Yep Jackdaw good option... but again location is important. There are sites out there that will let Pastyboy enter the postcode and give options.. Oy Gary..... Lill was my Mums name.
Worth a read Pastyboy. There are some postcode suitability checks here as well.

It's not particularly cheap. I pay £25 per month for 8 gb which lasts for thirty days. Having said that, I am on the internet every day. There are cheaper packages with less data but they all expire at the end of the month. It depends on how much you want to use the internet.
We are in the same sort of position. We get our Internet through a dish supplied by europasat. Not cheap to buy and set up, but very reliable. We also get no phone signal worth mentioning either.
