why does lycos.com redirect me to lycos.co.uk

I want to access an e-mail account at lycos.com but every time I try to get into the website it automatically redirects me to the lycos.co.uk website.  Unfortunately my e-mail address isn't available on the .co.uk site - does anyone know how to stop my web browser automatically redirecting me?

Have you tried going directly to the webmail page?
