hi, we log off then turn our pc off using the start menu.

if we dont log out of the internet then our pc mucks about for ages before finally turning off!

...Whatever suits you .......I personally turn mine on in the morning and leave it connected until I shut down at night using the Start menu.............I do have Norton Anti Virus and Firewall protection though....commoner
I agree.Safer to disconnect from the internet at the end of a session and shut down from the start menu
Agree with the above, I only connect when i want, never leave it running unless im downloading anything for example, but always have Anti-virus and firewall runing (AVG and Zone alarm) - preference for myself is to switch off overnight (unless again downloading a big file for example) but many people I know leave in standby, so its what you prefer really.
Basically same answer as above.
I put it into hibernate so it shuts down but resumes where you left off, but I always switch the monitor off.
