Me and hubby have spent the Easter break in the lakes and it has been wonderful made even better as we have had such wonderful weather. It is the first break without the children. In fact the last time we were away just the 2 of us was our honeymoon 23 years ago

Kids are 18 & 22 now so this has been a long time coming!!! Cannot believe how lovely everything has been not one thing has marred this weekend so blissfully happy. Am sad aren't I??

Arhh thanks guys. Yes I hope more to come.. I think you look at things differently when you haven't got children with you, you seem to appreciate how lovely certain areas are.
I grew up in the Lakes, very close to where you were. Next time have a look at the Sedbergh/Dent/Hawes/Kirkby Stephen area; that is particularly beautiful and without all the people.....
I'm going to the Lakes a week on Wednesday. Really hoping for good weather...
nothing sad about being happy! Glad you had a good time.
