I am suddenly seeing a box every time I log in to my TB email (this has only started to happen recently) and it is annoying me! Even if I un tick it , it still re-appears.

I am not concerned about the compacting as I believe lots of email programs do this automatically.

How can I get rid of this box please? In plain and simple terms please,

Thank you all

When you say that you untick it, do you mean turn off compacting in the options?

If you go to the Tools menu > Options > Advanced tab ? Network & Disk Space sub-tab > Disk Space section there is the option to turn automatic compacting on/off or to set the MB limit at which compacting occurs.

You could try pre-empting it by compacting manually - select folders and then using the Compact Folders option in the File menu.

Thanks for coming back quickly. No...I had not gone into options etc. I have now done this and found the box ticked for compacting. I left it ticked (should I have done that or unticked it?). Alongside it said use up to 500mb of cache and under that 'clear cache when reach 20mb'
Have I done this correctly?
Thanks
