Hi In regards to general customer service which one do people recommend?

My Sky viewing card is not working so phoned the company who said they`ll send me another in the post. The chap at Sky said it will take 3 to 5 working days to arrive.

If you are a Virgin customer, do you need a viewing card to watch TV and should you need one because the current one is faulty, are they the kind of company who is likely to send you one by courier service?

There must be different sky boxes. My old one needed a card, the new one doesn't. Cable hasn't reached my neck of the woods yet so sadly don't have a choice!
I'm just about to cancel my Virgin TV - pants and pricey IMO.

I have a Sky+ HD box and sadly it needs a viewing card. I can still get the basic channels BBC HD, ITV HD etc. They promise to reimburse me for the days I`m without the full package. I know it`s not the end of the world but it`s just a pain.
The other alternative is to just go with freeview and spend more time on AB
;-)
When I spilt coffee on my Virgin remote I received a new one the next day.

Good answer shoota. Very informative on here
Shoota - do what I did - ring them and tell them you're moving 'cos you can get an introductory offer from Sky, etc.
I did this and lo and behold, they started telling me about the offers that they have. Apparently you have to ring and ask - it's a case of, if you don't ask, you don't get.
I was paying approx £40 per month for phone, 20MB broadband and basic TV - with a normal Virgin Box.
The Virgin engineer has just left my house about an hour ago and I've been upgraded to 30MB broadband, with a Tivo box ..... and I'll be paying slightly less - approx £37 per month.
Whatever you go with avoid BT.
I'd recommend Freeview. It's cheaper and gives you many channels you can't find anything you want to watch on already without paying for some more.
Virgin customer service is appalling, I was called a liar by one of their reps once.
