Maybe should have put this in business etc but it is a generalised question.

I am forever losing - leaving - misplacing my debit card - I am so paranoid about it (because I have lost so many and of course replaced) - I lost it about 3 weeks ago and got a replacement last week and to my aghast have lost it again yesterday - I can't believe it - I constantly look at the little wallet to make sure it is there.

I would dearly love to make a hole in it and string it and myself round my neck but that is out of the question.

Anybody any suggestions to keep it safe cos I do buy on impulse. I think I may subject myself to taking a lump sum of money once with the card - put the money away and use money and keep the card in the house. Anybody out there with any ideas? Feel so hahha FED UP. A new card is on its way - you know I wouldn't have blamed the bank if they had have charged me I would have deserved it.

Stick it in your bra when you go out - I put my door keys in my bra so that I won't lose them. I put my mobile in the other cup - some weird looks when someone phones me and the whole boob vibrates and lights up.

:-)
What about a ribbon on the card case pinned to the inside of a pocket? If you put the card back in the case every time after it's been used you shouldn't lose it.
Connemmara, you might better using cash. I get a sum of money out on Monday and use that for all my purchases. I do take my card with me but rarely use it.
You lose it when you're out?

I only ever lose mine in the house.
Only take it with you if you are going to use it...keep it in a fixed place at home...so you will always remember where it is.

Ummm I don't know where the hell I lose it - my head is all over the bloody place ALL the time.

Sandy could you explain a little more detail re the ribbon effect -
I have a wallet with my cash and cards in. Its all kept together and much harder to lose. In the house it lives in one place with my keys.
My lovely ole grannie used to wear a body belt, and it never left her side.
She had a little linen bag thread through the string or what ever it was and she never ever lost it and stayed safe hanging round her waist.
Maybe she didnt want anyone to pinch it? I loved my nan, she's was carefull. lol
Ermm how about you put it back in your purse when you have finished using it and put your purse in your handbag so you know where it is!

sandy just re-reading your post - it is just I do wear a different coat every day - so I know I wouldn't be a sed in replacing the card in a different coat.

I do think I will resolve to the money solution. But does anybody feel this way - when I actually spend money and not use the card - I feel I spend too much ie paying £100 a month by money for a monthly shopping kills me - but a card does not affect me that way.
Connie, I was just thinking if you had a plastic case for the card you could thread a ribbon or a piece of string through it and pin the end of the ribbon or string to the inside of a pocket.

fgt - I do think I have put it in the bloody wallet - people probably think I am wired up as I actually talk to myself after purchasing something - "put your card away - put your card away" that is careful I TRY to be - I am. Kloofnek when I am out I very much never know what I am going to buy.

I am going to try and use the money - I will always know where the card is in the house big time - and if I see something in the shop I want - will ask assistant could they hold it over for me - this will be a task - but it seems to be my only answer.

My online account was hacked many years ago and I was robbed of £700 and £30 - both were reported to the police but thank God - bank paid me back. What did we do years ago with no card. My friends and family know what I am like with this card - I never told them re the recent losses - they would strangle me.
I always do what friedgreentomat has suggested. My purse has a place where cards can be kept.

Pusskin - my waist has got too thick for the little money bags. I used one of them travelling to America some years ago and I was forever fiddling down my front looking for money - I then realised to myself people in the airport could have been thinking I was interfering with myself -
Look on the bright side..Connemmara...you wouldn`t spend as much...I have to be honest..I rarely use cash and know how easy it is to get "carried away" when shopping...but have schooled myself not to.
I only take the card I will be using with me..
.I once left my purse in a taxi ..OMG..nightmare...lost my bus pass(rarely used),Library card, and TWO debit cards..I had to PAY for a new bus pass (annoyed about that) ringing the banks etc.
Since then...I only have with me what I will be using.

Quinie - I also have a wallet that holds this blasted card - I do only have a debit - never a credit card in my life - but card holds library, boost card for gym (which I never get to) photo of nephew etc etc - do I ever lose these NO - just that debit card.
fluff, great idea. conn see fluffs first post.
I think its the wallet that is causing the problem - i never lose my card - I put it back in my purse as soon as finished - everything is in my purse.
