Can you see the remnants of the switch within the card and if so are you able to 'flick' it with a pin, for example?

Gave it a try, but no it won't budge. Should it come off so easily, in other words should I try and get my money back?

How long have you owned the card?

I presume it came with a manufacturers warranty which would apply, but your first port-of-call should always be to the retailer (?) who sold the faulty item, as long as the fault appeared within a reasonable time.
