Windows Movie Maker format problem

In Windows Movie Maker, when I publish my movies, they are squashed up to the wrong format, even though they never look like that either in the camera or in the WMM program when I am putting the film together, and they never used to be like that in the past. I've tried different cameras too, so its not the camera.
I make short family films incorporating both still and video, the stills are fine, but the movies are squashed vertically.
I have tried tweaking the 16:9/4:3 ratio settings in WMM, but they still come out too square and not 'letterbox' enough.
Something I'm missing somewhere?

I've made dozens of little 3-10 minute films all the same way and they never used to be like this, I can't think what's changed

Problem solved by downloading the latest version of MM. Still don't know what caused the initial problem though.
