I have a acer 1302 laptop, is it possible to  connect to internet away from home what extra gear would  I need to do this and what speed would the connection be, many thanks

If you have a PCMCIA slot you could get somethinbg like a Nokia card phone or Ornage Mobile Office card.

Otherwise you can use a suitable mobile phone and connect with the modem cable like you do with your landline at home.
