Have posted this on both Money & Finance and Technology sections.

We are trying to support our local scout group and have volunteered to Treasury role. Has anyone any suggestions for good basic and free or cheap book keeping software. We have no previous formal account management training and are currently running on Windows 98. Thanks

I am a Scout Leader in Leeds - our troop's accounts are just done on Excel. I'm sorry I can't name it but I remember some Microsoft book-keeping package being shipped with Windows / Office 95, but I haven't spotted it since.

 

When I got Windows 98 it came with Microsoft WorksSuite. This included a progremme called Microsoft Money. Did you get this - or is it unsuitable ?
