i have a scrolling mouse, and when surfing the web, use it to scroll down the pages, my question is, sometimes the scrolling feature on my mouse just stops working, which the only way to get it working again is to restart my computer, is there any other way to get it working again, and why does it do this?

thanks in advance.

Have you checked the bottom of the mouse?  There is a small button, about the size of a ball point pen.  In fact it takes something that small to reset this button.  Not sure of the reason, but I believe it has something to do with the "sleep mode"... Additionally, mine tends to do this more often when the batteries are low.  My mouse on my home PC has a "battery low" warning, but not the one at work... so keep these reasonably fresh...

thanks for the reply! I have looked and i haven't got a small reset button, it's not when i leave it, it just does it out of the blue, so annoying!
Mine does this sometimes if i inadvertantly click on something, and then a simple left click on a blank space normally gets it going again.
I, too, have this problem when the PC returns from hibernation.
chelsea25, I may have inadvertently assumed you have a wireless mouse... if yours has a cord, it wouldn't have the reset button I've described...

Ditto, sharpep78 and  johntheplamf.

I do have a wireless mouse and I thought something was wrong when it first happened.  I use it on a waxed wood surface.
