What is the actual model of the router and is it a USB type A (long thin one) or USB type B (square one)

You don't give us much to go on but it could be a port where USB printers and storage devices can be connected to the network.

I can't find any reference to that router even having a USB port. are you sure it's not a DGN2200?... The DGN2200 has a USB port which you can plug a USB flash drive into and then access it from any computer connected to the router.
