Do any of you have a phone that can read those funny symbols that you scan and it takes you to a website? You know the ones I mean, they look like a cross between a crossword puzzle and an ink splot test.

If so, could you try scanning this one in and see where it takes you:

I tried to make one but haven't got a phone to test it on.

Thanks Fitzer. I was hoping it would take you to www.mitsuku.com
If I click on the link you posted, it takes me to my website. Are you seeing that or is it just that bit.ly website?
My phone couldnt seem to recognise it, maybe just me, I never used that scanner before.
my phone didnt pick it up, either

Pah! ok, thanks anyway guys. Back to the drawing board.
Can't help - but for future reference these matrix barcodes are called"QR codes" or "Quick Response codes".
Question Author
That's right (it's in my link) but if I thought if I asked people to try out a QR code they may not know what I was talking about.
...well, now they do!
Question Author
lol true :-)
SB, it does take you to your website at mitsuku.com but the bit.ly address is what is resolved by the QR reader (at least it is on my iPhone)
Question Author
Thanks Fitzer. I was hoping it wouldn't display the bit.ly part as anyone who sees a name like that probably thinks it is some kind of chinese fake rolex site.
I had to dig around in the QR app to get the location, the scan took me straight to the site without showing the address if that helps.
Here are some online QR (and other format) barcode readers for testing purposes...

...and here is a QR Code for httр://www.square-bear.co.uk/mitsuku/

Works for me SB. www.mitsuku.com it was.
Question Author
Aberrant, thanks for that. Did you make that yourself? Don't suppose you could make it go to www.mitsuku.com could you please and I'll be your friend forever :-)

Fitzer - Cheers! That puts my mind at ease.

Ed - Thanks for testing too.

I just tried making another one. Could any kind soul tell me if this works please?

It should take you to http://www.mitsuku.com
I put it in an online reader and got this

http://zxing.org/w/de...uqrcode.png&full=true

which seems to be what you want. Sorry I don't have a phone...
Yep, a direct link to http://www.mitsuku.com/
... to which I was going to add, before I bumped Submit, that it might of course be totally useless
Question Author
That's fine jno. Itested it via the online reader ABerrant linked to but wondered if it actually worked in real life or just displayed my website name.
