Hi AnswerBankers,

Right, I play my iPod through my Dock and Speaker system, which is great but every time it plays a song I do not want (e.g. a Christmas song in July!) I have to get up, walk across the room and change it on my iPod. It is not that I'm lazy, its just every few songs it gets extremely tedious and also, I'm often working so any distraction from work means I never go back to it! I was just wondering if I could change my songs from my computer from iTunes? Or from any apps off my laptop? I have an Apple Mac if this helps/alters things.

Thanks,

Why don't you just make up your own playlists on iTunes, that way you only play what you want. I've about 40 different playlists depending on my mood.

That's a very good idea rockyracoon, however, i literally have about 3000+ songs so its quite difficult and very time consuming!
Why don't you just play the songs from your computer and connect that to the speakers instead.
There are various systems you can buy to do that. Brother in law has one, just can't remember what it's called. That was helpful wasn't it..

Why don't you just listen to your music from your computer while you work?

ChuckFickens - it is a docking system, therefore you have to plug a iPod in

EvianBaby - Okay, thanks. My computer speakers are rubbish and I know this makes no sense whatsoever, but I cannot concentrate with music coming out of my computer!
No AUX input on the dock then?
a playlist is the only way. Or just delete that annoying xmas song. It doesnt take that long really. Or go to i-tunes then your i'pod then select music and ust download the albums that you want to, when xmas nears again add it on.
or if you are using shuffle alot. Go to the album you dont want to play. Highlight, go to file, then get info, click options tab, then you have the choice to skip whilst shuffling.

Failing all that buy a docking station with a remote so you dont have to get up :-)
You could just buy yourself a new dock that comes with a remote control.

For what you want to do you'd have to spend some money somewhere and that seems like the easiest solution. You can't pick up reasonably cheap ones if you shop around.
Oops, hadn't seen 4get had already suggested that.
Simply tick the songs in itunes on your pc that you do not want to hear and when younext plug in your ipod, it will only sync to the unticked songs. Job done!
