Screen broken on a Fujifilm Finepix F100

I dropped my Fujifilm Finepix F100 camera and damaged the screen. Unfortunately now nothing can be seen on the screen which renders the camera useless as there isn't a viewfinder on it.

I'm presuming that it would cost as much to have it repaired as to have the screen replaced?

Thanks.

Fujifilm offer a great 'Trade-In' service against the purchase of a new camera through their web site:

http://fujifilm.co.uk/technical/camera_repair/

All you have to do is click on 'Pre Book Camera Repair' and fill in all your details and they will give you an Estimated Cost Of Repair or you can trade it in giving you money off the cost of a new camera.
You have to send them the broken camera though.

I got £40 for my old F410 and bought a new F50fd saving £40 off the retail price.

Worth a go since your camera is now knackered.

I never considered it as an insurance claim - will look into that.

Thanks gsr - although I suppose I could end up buying the screen to find that there is something else wrong with it as well?

Great idea Fanriffic (and great name and avatar too !!)
Look for one for spares on eBay. People sell them!
Fiddly job to do tho. You will need a minature screwdriver set .. like a mobile repair set.

Don't think my technological skills would be up to that Albags, but your suggestion has given me the idea to sell it on ebay for someone else to use for spares.
I wonder what sort of money I could expect for it?
