Using mobile phone in Hong Kong

I am with Virgin and my husband is with Orange, both on contracts. What is the best way to have access to a mobile phone when we go to Hong Kong. Perhaps buy a cheap phone and buy a sim card when we get there - is that possbile/feasible? If not, please advise best thing to do. We wont be using them to phone UK much, only a couple of times a week for 2 weeks, just to check on family.

Cheap multi-band UNLOCKED phones .. buy or rent a couple of local sims when you get there at airport or in town.
That will keep you both in touch most reliably and enable calling home.
