Why does my PC keep switching itself off, most infuriating, several times a day, what can I do please?

It might be overheating. When it switches itself off, can you hear a fan running in the casing?
Could be a number of reasons. Maybe it is getting too hot ? Maybe the power supply is complaining and switching off ?

Thanks for the info folks.I didn't know about cleaning inside the computer so have never done it. Can I use a hairdryer to blow the dust away?
Hairdryer and a new blusher brush is perfect.
You could also try :-
Start - Control Panel - Power options
to see if it has been set to switch off after a certain time.
Sounds just like what happened to me the other month. Turned out to be a broken fan. If this is the case best get it seen to ASAP before you do further damage.

Can hear the fan running so not broken, not set for automatic switch off, also been on scheduled task just in case but all ok, it looks like a dismantle job!
Check screensaver, adjust switch on time if necessary.Ron.
