I don't know, but doesn't the SIM card get registered to a particular number? the network provider would know whose it was - didn't it have any numbers on it that you could phone to ask?
... or for a phone of that value, the loss might have been reported to the police, did you report it as found?
Since you still have it, it is clear that you did nothing about it. Why did you not hand it in to the Police as lost property?

at the time i handed it in to the shop were it was found and then after a month no one claimed it so they gave it back to me.bit weird.i guess i should of done just didnt think.was nothing on it.not sure if someone had already cleared the stuff off it.
You'd know, rachy, the other person's numbers and stuff would have been on the SIM card. Well it sounds like it's down to the shop then, if they gave it to you as unclaimed lost property, you did the right thing at the time. IMO.

rachy21 - so are you saying you had it converted from contract to PAYG, and are now worried about it being traced? Surely you would be glad if it was reunited with it's rightfull owne, as you had no luck in tracing them?
Question Author
no i just put my sim in it and it worked.i wanted to find the owner.i put up a poster about it but no one came forward.only thought about it a few days a go if it was traced it would look bad on me even though i only found it.i thought the owner may have blocked it (if that is what you call it) there numbers werent on it but just a few random pics and videos.
So there was a SIM in when you had it, and you replaced it with your own? Their SIM would have had records of recent phone calls and contacts, etc. Have you still got it?

yea i will do i just wanted check the police wouldnt think looked weird or bad that id kept it for 7 months.i know its not my phone just become attached to it.i shouldnt of picked it up in first time should i!
The owner will have a new phone by now, probably provided by insurance.

Stop worrying, and just use it.

If there is any comeback the shop can vouch for you that you didn't steal it.

i know what if the owner did trace it through iemi is it or bb messenger pin? they could go police and i would therefore get into trouble surely?

LOL pinki, it's not exactly stolen though - if she handed to the shop and they gave it back to her?

I'd forget it, then, rachy - not point in worrying after all this time.
