Blackberry internet access

My son wants to buy a second hand Blackberry PAYG mobile phone.. I understand that PAYG Blackberry's have no internet capacity, but can anyone advise if internet connection can be made via LAN and wi-fi access that can be found in some fast food outlets, and airports etc.

He should still be able to get on tinternen via wifi.

From what I have seen of Blackberrys they are highly overrated. Extremely unimpressive hardware.

If you do get one make sure that it has WIFI capability and from there you can scan for networks. I'm unsure how it works though but I know you don't get charged if you connect to a wireless router
