NO! Don't do it!
I use a slightly damp microfibre cloth (sold as glass-cleaning cloth). No chemicals or sprays required - also excellent for specs.
I use something called Klear Screen but a damp cloth (water) does the same thing imo...
The Cloth you use is more important than what you use.

Soft damp cloth will do if it's not too dirty, add a little detergent if its really dirty.

Well yes... but I got poor results with peanut butter...
Crunchy or smooth?

LOL!!
Pah, I knew you'd ask that chuck... crunchy as it goes... I know I know...
I clean my PC screen as follows:
Wet a paper tissue under the cold tap.
Squeeze as much excess water out as possible, so that you have a damp tissue.
Wipe the tissue quickly over the screen, then quickly rub it lightly with a soft cloth or fluffy towel.
The reason for doing the last bit quickly is to make sure that there are no streaks.
