they have a strike pending over the Easter period I think, piggy
I don't but was chatting to a friend the other day who flys to Dubai regularly and said she has not stopped using BA completely. Her reason was down to the quality of the food provided on board. Suppose it depends how important that is to you.
My hubby who has to travel alot for his job especially around Europe will try and avoid BA at all costs if possible. He says (like you) 'anybody would think that they don't want customers the way the website's set up'. He also said they were the least friendly, the least helpful, and the rudest bunch he'd ever had the mis-fortune to travel with!
Milly my friend flys to Dubai via Emerrates and she says it is supberb service
oopps, I meant now stopped.
Yes, that's who my friend uses now. A better service all round I am told.
yes so I believe, she says they are so attentive with excellent CS
Emirates is superb..........always has been in my opinion.
not long haul unless on a diet & abstaining
Milly, I can understand your friend abandoning BA for the Dubai route. They have been serving the same meal for at least four years. If you fly that route regularly it really doesn't take long to get fed up with it.
She mentioned something about a scabby muffin they gave her. She would have preferred a cheese sandwich. lol.
<<a scabby muffin>> provided by BA. Now I know why I don't like them,
I travel regularly back and forth between the Cayman Islands and the UK and I would say the ONLY way to fly is BA. I aways travel World Traveller at the 'back of the plane' and have nothing but praise for the booking process, checking in on line ( and I am a one finger typer, and not at all computer literate ). It is always hassle free at Terminal 5 at LHR. I can not fault the on board catering and complimentary alcoholic beverages. At times I travel on other airlines, usually business class at the 'front of the plane" but this involves a change of plane, almost always in the US and with all the hassle that this involves, anyone who travelled there will perfectly understand why I dislike this option.
When friends or relatives fly over to visit our place in Cayman my advise to them is very simple:- " Fly the flag, book with BA ". They have all taken my advice and were all overjoyed with their experience.

is old_labour having a laugh? wind up or what?
Wouldn't touch them!
No, Piggynose, I am a very experienced traveller. You asked a question, I gave an honest answer. If you knew the answer, why did you waste our time by asking the question?
like old_labour, I've had no trouble in recent years, though I occasionally found them snotty in years gone by. I've not had any trouble with their website either (though if I did I'd ring up and ask - that may not be available to piggynose, and it may be using a Spanish site isn't as good as the UK one).

excuse me old_labour, keep yr hair on!!
if i knew the answer, then why did i waste yr time, ??
I used to use BA around year 2000 til 2003, it was a great service, then it went pear shaped.
well i wont try to argue with you, if you think they´re great and have a wonderful user friendly website, then thats ok by me.
last comment, i tried to book a flight 6 times, and what did i get a message in red writing saying i needed to give them alternative dates. i then lost the will and all that
I love scabs in my sarnies - with Hellman's Mayo
Hi Piggynose, If you had not already decided on what you thought of BA why did you think that my response (and JNO's) was a laugh or a wind up ? Probably the flight you repeatedly attempted to book a seat on was already overbooked and if you had tried a million times you would each time have been asked to try an alternative date. You must realise that flights do get overbooked at popular times like the beginning of school holidays etc.
