I've never been able to get my head around the 'click here' bit in forums. You know, when someone is writing something and they want to show you another site. Instead of just giving you the URL it 's written as 'CLICK' Click here' or just 'HERE'. How do you do that?

On here all you do is make sure you include the http:// part at the beginning of the link
So www.theanswerbank.co.uk is not a clickable link
But http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk is clickable.
On some other sites to get a link that says click here that takes you to a page the format would be
<a href="http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk">click here</a>
but links like that ^ don't work on answerbank

The explanation in the AB's tutorial is out of date.
It used to work here but, as Chuck said, not any more. We can only enter the complete URL now. We even used to be able to type in colour and different sizes text and all sorts of things. The Editor has spoiled all our fun..... or has he?

The problem with reading the tutorial, which hc4361 has linked to,is that it's out of date!
AB has now disabled the html tags which used to allow people to type in bold or italic text. They've also disabled the ability to put 'click here' rather than the full link. At least I think they have. I'll just check:

Yes, as I suspected, that didn't work.
However if you're using forums which do allow you to enter HTML tags you can get a 'clickable' link (such as 'Click here') by copying and pasting the text from the last line of my post above (which is derived from the redundant tutorial) and replacing the Google URL with the web address you want to link to, while replacing 'Search here' with your choice of wording.
