On "Who do you think you are" TV programme last night, Carol Vorderman researched a member of her family via The Times archives on the internet. Is this a free site? and what is the web address please?

The Times and The Sunday Times Archive offers the ability to search both publications from 1985 onwards. Carol Vorderman was researching articles a century before that date so presumably it was a different service to this.

Carol Vorderman was searching the Infotrac Newspaper Database which includes The Times Digital Archive 1785-1985. Online access to this archive requires membership of a public library (or other institution) with a licence for the database.
