The expected change regarding the use of Visa credit cards on Amazon.co.uk will no longer take place on January 19. We are working closely with Visa on a potential solution that will enable customers to continue using their Visa credit cards on Amazon.co.uk.

Not necessarily; it could be VISA that has given in. Whilst a lot of people will have switched their custom to a different retailer there will also be those, like me, who have just switched to a Mastercard thus causing a loss of revenue for VISA.
They have caved in potentially...
Visa has given in, thanks ladybirder

Reading what Barry had said I thought I'd wait and see and I'm so glad I didn't have to bother getting another card. I use smile.amazon as then some of my money goes to charity, so I didn't want to change to another supplier and I cba to get a different card.
I hope Amazon's stance will help other retailers with these costs
My interpretation of the email from Amazon is that it's not all done and dusted; they have just postponed things whilst they negotiate further with VISA.
I've looked in to my crystal ball and it will be resolved with no disruption to Amazon customers

I've given you BA on the other thread Barry.

Does anyone know that IF Amazon does refuse to accept Visa eventually, could I pay through PayPal (which also has my Visa card)?

Might be a bit late, a lot of banks have already switched their cards to Mastercard.

Ladybirder if Amazon, does stop accepting visa your best bet would probably be getting a prepaid card to order with

Thank you Barry and Chelle.

The overriding reason for wanting to use the Visa card I have is because it is a Cashback Card and I get a percentage of my spend back every time I use it. It has added up to a good amount over the years.
I found it interesting that there was no word from Audible that they would stop taking Visa - Audible are part of Amazon.

That made me think that Amazon might change their mind.
