Moving from XP to widows7 I somehow have lost my Microsoft Publisher, which I only used occasionally and for very simple things, I have just spotted this on ebay which does seem amazing for £4.99. Not much to risk I know, but I'm curious to know what you think of it please? It seems to do everything I want, is there a catch?

"Open Source" software, K. I guess it's rather like "Open Office" which I use as a substitute for Microsoft Office. There are no licence fees, and the software is available to all. It can even be modified if you know how.

If you search around, you'll possibly find this or alternatives available for free download from the Net.

I'm no expert, but I can't say that I've ever had a problem with "Open Source" code.

I've never come across the software you've linked to. However, if you can put up with a maximum document size of 5 pages, the Starter Edition of Serif's excellent PagePlus software is completely free!

Alternatively, the number one open source (i.e. free!) DTP program is Scribus:

What's stopping you from reinstalling your Microsoft Publisher?

Thanks all.
Maydup. It's on an old cd given to me years back and it is not a genuine Microsoft issue. I have tried installing it but it doesn't function properly (it won't close down I had to do a forced closure) and I assumed that it was being prevented somehow by Windows7. I asked about these other products out of paranoia about inadvertently installing something malicious.
Fair enough, sorry didn't really mean for you to have to explain yourself ,
