when typing, how do i make the lines between

the letters narrower? i hope omeone knows what i mean! i am using serif page plus.

whereas i would like it

You mean the gaps between the lines.
If on word there is an icon for line spacing

It looks like you have default line spacing set at 2
On my toolbar its after the bit that shows left justify, centre, right justify, justify options. The line spacing one on mine shows a ittle up arrow and down arrow with 4 short lines, and there's a drop down bit that lets me select teh line spacing
I don't have Serif Page Plus but according to a couple of Google searches. you should select the text and then select Format->Paragraph->line spacing

If that doesn't work for you, search your help for:

line spacing

Most applications will give you help if you hit F1
