I'm getting very annoyed. Last night my Dad asked me to sort out his repeat prescription because for some reason he seems to be incapable of faxing it to the docs from his office, which is all I do. Anyway, he told me he only needs two of the three tablets so I said fine, just tick the ones you need and I'll sort it out. Went to pick it up this morning and it wasn't there. I just called him to tell him I couldn't find the prescription to which he replied that I had left it on the notice board so it was my fault. When I then asked if he had ticked off the ones he needs he said no, that's what you usually do. Yes Dad but I don't know which ones you need!!! Aahhhh!!! Do they get worse as they get older?

He really does act completely helpless at times. I sometimes wonder how he has made it this far sometimes.
Yes I am sure you are right ,my wife sorts my prescription which has approx 5 pages ,I would have no idea what I need ,my wife also sorts my Tablets into each twice a day I just need to take my injections twice a day for Diabetes,
Thank heaven for you Ladies,I thank you for all you do for us men I for one fully appreciate you all.
The situation is reversed in the case of my mum & dad.
My mum would take any tablet given to her (but then read the side effects and panic that she is going to get every one....). It is my dad who keeps the Woods' Drug Diary and monitors her and himself.
He's 82 by the way...

Your wife clearly has a lot more patience than me in a mo. Lucky boy!
Tell him to do it himself, and let him get on with it!
Men want babying, anf if you do it for them they will take it to extremes!

Does your Mum rely on your Dads help Salla?

My Dads (only) 62. He suffered a mild stroke and lost most the use in his left arm but this has returned and he is still working etc, I think he's just lazy.

That's true Invictas, he is like a baby sometimes.
She's just got lazy milly! She's 79 this year and has worked hard all her life to bring up 4 children. She suffers from her nerves on & off and is a bit of a hypochondriac, but when dad retired he gradually took over the cooking, housework.... all she does is the odd bit of ironing!

She relies on him totally for driving - she cannot drive (thank god, the roads are dangerous enough as it is). I think dad does too much for her, but he doesn't complain so I keep out of it x

My Grandad phoned my Aunty to go to his house and open a packet of biscuits for him...
She doesn't drive either so has to catch a bus...

When he can't be bothered to even tick the boxes for the ones he needs then that is lazy. You can't expect others to help you if you won't help yourself. This is just one example.
