I have a Compaq Presario CQ61 and my current graphics card is a Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family. I am looking to upgrade this and am wondering if the 1GB nVIDIA GeForce 8500 PCI-E card will work in my laptop? If not could anyone suggest a card with a memory of over 250MB that will be compatible? Any help would be greatly appreciated

You can't upgrade the graphics cards in laptops
Add more Ram instead.
I'm pretty sure the most basic model of the CQ61 had 2GB of RAM in it anyhow, and on a 32bit version of windows the benefits of adding more RAM above 2GB would be negligible.

I guess you could change the main board for a different one to upgrade the graphics card (I have a CQ61 with a 512MB Nvidea card) but the cost and effort of doing so would probably be more than a new laptop.
