System memory has nothing to do with graphics card memory.
The only thing to be bothered about, as regards compatibility, is whether you need an AGP or a PCIE card.

ok thanks
Also you need to check whether your PC's power supply is of sufficient wattage. E.g I have a 650W dual rail PSU powering an Asus board capable of having two SLI graphics cards.
showing off eh
If you are referring to me,joecool641, I am not showing off, merely trying to demonstrate that if you want a gaming system, then you have to choose your components accordingly.
FWIW ,
AGP cards are being phased out - try and head down the PCIe route if you can.
More modern mobos will have the PCIe slot, older ones may not.
