shortcut Icons on Desktop

Hello-all my shortcut icons on desktop have been overprinted by a basic windows Icon(the square one with three dots at top left and three colors in middle) The normal icons are there individually but underneath this icon.Does anyone know how to remove the windows icon so that I can get my deskyop back? Thanks

Try right clicking an empty part of the screen and run desktop clean up
