I have replaced all the conventional desktop icons with flower ones and had problem with the recycle bin icon until I created a shortcut from it. However, the old recycle bin icon is still there, and I can't hide it or delete it. Does anyone know how this can be done?

You've not stated which operating system you're using. In XP Pro it's fairly easy. In XP Home it means mucking about with the registry:

OK petal ... this should be blooming easy.... just leaf it to me to explain (this is the potted version)

Right click on a clear area of your desktop - from the menu... select

Properties
then selectthe desktop tab
and press the customize desktop button ....
...... change any of the desktop system icons
ps this works on any version of windows

Troll-ey person, thanks, but though this works fine with any other icon, it won't shift the bin. (Your floral puns are more apt than you know!)

Gracias, Buenchico. It worked fine. I just wonder how you know about such things ?
