I have no idea how and why it happened but I can't see my CD/DVD drive when I open my computer. Even if I put a disc in, it does not start. I looked under device manager and there is small yellow colour sign on my drive. How do I makeit work again. I have restarted computer so many times but nothing is happening.

Thanks for your help, really appreciated. Fix me is running and seems like it would do the trick.

Thanks

And now I can see it under "my Computer". Thanks.
When something like that happens it is often worth deleting the item, then allowing the PC to find it and reinstall everything again from scratch.

Thanks geezer -I did click uninstall and restarted computer but nothing happened. But above method did sort the problem.
Indeed - that would have made no difference in this particular instance...
it's not bad advice as a general rule, but wouldn't solve the problem in this case as it was a registry problem and removing the item and letting install again just recreates the same registry problem.
