Hi,
I want to ask some help to fix my DVD drive. I bought a new DVD and since I am excited to watch it, as soon as I arrived home, I immediately put it in my laptop's DVD drive. Then, I was so shocked for its not working anymore. I try ejecting the Dvd and then insert it back but it gets the same error. So I thought that maybe, I need to restart my laptop, and so I did. Then again, I inserted my DVD again but till the error that's says No DVD Decoder keeps popping in. I am hoping for your technical advice to fix this. Thank you!

Daft question I know but; it is a DVD drive not a CD drive isn't it ?
Wndows 7 comes with a DVD decoder built in, but XP and Vista dont, see here

I believe there are free DVD decoders you can download, but I have never done it.

I am sure someone will suggest one soon.
VLC media player will play DVDs in XP.
