111GB is enough for that, don't worry :)
2 GB of ram is also enough for someone just doing homework, surfing the internet etc...
I have over 2048 GB on my pc, but I have over 800 films and 12,000 songs so that shows a little. Don't worry 100+GB is ok for your daughter :)
My first laptop had a 4Gb hard drive so a that time 111Gb would have seemed massive !!!
If its just for general usage such as email, internet, perhaps schoolwork/uni assignments then 2GB should still be enough but ideally 4GB has become a comfortable norm these days (providing her model of laptop can take that much RAM of course).

Here's a rundown of how much RAM a laptop should contain based on various usage patterns:

111GB on C:\ drive suggests she has a 120GB hard drive that once formated yields 111GB of free space.
