My laptop is running Windows XP SP3.

About an hour ago it shut itself down for no reason. I ried to boot it up many times but it always shut down sometimes just before the Windows Logo on or sometimes not even to the Logo appears. I tried to go to booting systems as soon as the black screen appears but it shuts itself down just before entering the booting system windows.

Doeas anyone out there know why this happened and how to fix it please?

Thanks.

Sounds like it's overheating (quickly as well!!)

make sure all the airvents are clear but it may need a strip down to clear any fluff and dust from the cooling fan and heatsink.

I put one layer of thick book underneath my laptop, I thought to prevent it from over heating.

Oh that is a relieve then if it is only because of overheating. I will be careful not to put it on the bed (even on top of thick book).

When I read the article, it said about BSOD, it started to frick me out.

Thanks.
