Can you tell me what is best for my own use ?
I have always had inkjet, but have been offered a lazerjet as my own broke down.
Thanks in advance.

Don't know.

what do you want to use it for?

The laser is almost certainly black and white only (if it is a colour laser then take it quick before they change their mind!)

So for letters and other black and white things a laser would be OK and the toner cartridge would probably last you years unless you are a really heavy user

if you want to print pictures and colour stuff then another inkjet is the way to go.

Thanks chuckfickens, thats clear. xx
the laserjet will be 1000 times cheaper to run

if you want colour ... I get next door's kids to lend the wife their crayons - she gets most stuff sone same night

if it's just for own use ... how badly do you need hard copy of something you can see on screen in colour?

food for thought thanks AC the trollx
I use inkjet at home. Cheap for b&w, not too bad for colour.
In work we use laser printers, both for B&W and colour. The colour is very expensive especially when the drum needs replacing.
very true sand

my laserjet (bought second hand including a new toner) is supposedly good for 10,000 sheets of text (new one costs 120)
but it never dries up ... so I can leave it for 6 months ... pop a single sheet ... and leave it another 6 months

then it will do 200 sheets without effort in a couple of minutes.

you can get a new b/w for about 150
a new colour one for less that 200

but colour is far more expensive to run (or at least costs more "up front")
