what sort of computer is it, if it is branded (i.e. dell etc) goto the makers website and the drivers should be in the support section.

if it is a home/custom build system of some sort can be a bit harder. concentraite on network first once you have that least you can go online to download the rest.

Maybe a case of taking the card out to see what sort of card it is.

Ethernet, video and audio not supprised at, USB is a little strange as that normally installs fine, you may need motherboard or chipset drivers

When you do locate all the drivers put them on CD so you have your own system restore CD ready for next time
You need to find out the make of the motherboard. If you do not feel confident in opening it up then get a more knowledgeable friend to help you.

Once you have the motherboard maker and model number go to their website and download the latest motherboard drivers.

Burn them to disc and keep them somewhere safe in case they are needed in future.
if your pc isn't branded, you could try downloading and running "aida32", http://www.sofotex.com/AIDA32-download_L9326.h tml
this will identify your system components so you should be able to get drivers from the respective makers websites.
if aida doesn't this just might

of all the devices a network card is least likely NOT to be included on the XP/vista cd.

is the machine a dixon's special? - and are you upgrading from 98 to xp?
