BT Phone Line & Broadband

Hi my parents are having a new BT phone line installed on Tuesday and I just wondered how long it normally takes for the phone line to be up and running once the engineer has installed everything. Also at what point can we order the BT broadband and how long does that take to be up and running. TIA.

In my experience BT broadband are really slow at sending out software/hardware etc Much better deals with Tiscali/Virgin/Orange etc

i had the same problem with BT they were a week late putting the line in, then we had to wait for sky who we are now with to send their package out, this was about 15days with sky broadband, trying to contact BT is is hopeless i hung on the phone line four three hours chasing my line up, then when you get through you cant understand the person on the end of the phone, this is BT one so called manager put the phone down on me.
