DVD copying problem

I have a dual layer DVD that I'm trying to copy. I'm using DVD Shrink 3.2, Nero Express 6 version 6.3.1.17 and a NEC DVD RW ND3500AG. The drive is supposed to support dual layer. When I put the disc in the drive and open the DVD in DVD Shrink, an error message appears on screen which states "DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Invalid DVD navigation structure" I've never burned dual layer discs on this drive before. Has anyone any idea what this message means? Is it telling me it can't read the disc because it's dual layer? I can't understand why if this is the case. Because of this error message, I can't even copy the disc to the hard drive. Is there some other freeware out there that will copy the disc to the hard drive? Nero just tells me that the disc is copy protected and will go no further. Can anyone suggest any remedies, because to be honest, I don't even know what I'm doing wrong.

Many thanks.

I should have added that the DVD plays fine in the burner.

Try to get a copy of AnyDVD and run it in the background when copying (even with Nero).

Thank you both. I downloaded DVDFAB and decrypted the film. I then searched for it on the HDD and after a bit of fiddling around selecting folders in the browse pane, managed to get DVD Shrink to open it in the preview pane. From there everything went as normal - I didn't even need a Dual Layer disc to copy it to.

I suppose it was the ideal candidate to test the ability of DVDFAB as it was a Sony film with their encryption method in place. The film by the way was Black Dawn with Steven Seagal.

Thank you both again
