I sat and played my piano this afternoon.  My goodness, I am rusty, but I still enjoyed it.  I've just been too busy or tired to even spend 15 minutes on there.

Have you done anything recently that you have not done for ages?

I keep looking at my piano but although 'the spirit is willing the flesh is weak'.

I know what you mean Andres.  My confidence has gone as well.  But I was dusting it and thought "let's just have a tinkle".  And I did, and I am glad I did because although I am rusty stuff came back quite quickly.

I like the classics. Just the simple versions.

I had a lay in yesterday and haven't logged on to do any work all weekend!

>>> . . . and thought "let's just have a tinkle"

I've been tinking that a lot too - but the doctor's given me something for it now 😊

^^^ tinking?  thinking!

Housework.

I was complaning on here the other about the year after year repeated christmas pop music, someone on here told me to try classic FM. So I did how very relaxing it was to. Is this yet another sign of old age. <:(

Alas I am on a double dose of Bumetanide so I am tinkling more often than I would like.

My dear Mum played the piano. We had one for ages when I was a nipper but my Mum very rarely played it which I find very sad. I reckon it was because she didn't want to upset my Dad who had a bit of a inferiority complex and wasn't musical himself. I don't know. I'm no trick cyclist. He was a nasty bully though .

You've inspired me, barmaid.  I haven't touched my piano - or my paint brushes - for ages.  Must remedy that.

RH I can't stay in bed much beyond 7.30, my two tinkers are VERY good at finding new and interesting methods of getting me out of bed.  This morning was "Let's chuck EVERYTHING off her dressing table".  Yesterday was "Let's shred her favourite curtains".

Nicebloke, Classic FM is my "go to" station and has been for years!  So possibly I am old.

Retro - I am sorry you are tinkling more than you would like.  But thankfully you are still tinkling.  Same for you Chris!

Naomi - I suddenly thought you might be my mother (apart from the fact that you are clearly not old enough).  She paints beautifully and is an amazing musician.  And then I remembered you hate cooking (she loves cooking and is very good at it).  She'll turn up here on Christmas day and knock out Chopin's Fantasie Impromtu, a bit of Beethoven and then probably Bohemian Rhapsody.  And then I shall plink plonk something really badly.

99% of the time I am up dressed by 530-6am so 730 would be a bonus, the only good thing is I go to bed early

Canary, I feel that pain!  I have been cleaning and tidying all weekend.  I have employed the "one touch" method - ie if you touch it you either put it away or throw it out.

RH - but still, it would be nice to NOT have to get up because someone is doing something naughty!!!

lol I would like to say it gets easier but my 17 is still naughty

ASBO was an absolute so and so, but he didn't wreck the house like this pair.  Yesterday one of them shredded a whole loo roll in the downstairs loo because I left the door open for the floor to dry after I had washed it.  Bits of loo roll stuck to a wet floor are a nightmare to get off.  But that was clearly to distract me from the Great Feather Pillow Massacre of 2023.  Feathers.  Everywhere.

Did the cats react ?

Question Author

One disappeared and I found her handiwork later.  The other tried to do her best innocent look.  She was covered in feathers though.  I was initially horrified, but ended up laughing.  They are just so naughty.  But so adorable.

Question Author

lol, Anne, I just got you.  Sorry, being slow.  I don't know - I locked myself in the dining room and played.  I imagine they were thinking "what the hell is that awful noise".
